Introducing the Scouse Scandanavians........
T.I.L. (Tromsoe Idrettslag) U16 Girls Confirmed [16th April 2008]
Norwegian people are of a very similar culture to us people from Liverpool, and as a result, us "Scousers" (People of Liverpool birthplace) always get on famously with our Norwegian counterparts.
Last week we received a call in the Tournament Office from Bente Openshaw who was organising a trip away for her team T.I.L. (Tromsoe Idrettslag) U16 Girls.
The funny thing was that she has a better Liverpool colloquialism than anyone in the Tournament Office and it seemed strange until she revealed that here partner is indeed a Scouser!!
Well, anyway the team have now committed to travel to Liverpool and will be competing in the U16 Girls section of our Tournament. They are staying for the whole week and since the competition is held over the finals weekend, will be playing friendlies during the week in preparation.
Bente told us that the girls are "dead" excited about coming to Liverpool and they all hope to become adopted scousers.
We look forward to welcoming them to Liverpool in July!!! [Below is a team photo of the team]
