Beware of the Boks!!
Randburg Boys commit for 2008! [10 Dec 2008]
In continuing with our announcement of International visiting teams confirmed for 2008 we are pleased to announce that Randburg Under 11 Boys have committed to attend in 2008!

Randburg [pictured below] will be Under 11 next year and with the core of the team having been together since they were 6 year olds;  this was their first season of competitive football.

The highlights of the season included narrowly finishing second in the league and getting to the final of 3 cups! The league cup final, the Osram Night Tournament final and the Old Parks 6 a side final.

Team Manager Themi told us earlier this week, "We really go out of our way to try play attractive football and we like to think we model our game on Barcelona. Interesting facts are that 11 out of the 14 players in the squad scored in a competitive match this season".

"We beat Wits University ( Premier League Proffesional club which produced players such as Gary Bailey, Erik Tinkler, Bradley Carnell, Richard Gough, Stanton Lewis) each time we played them. 3-0 Away 5-1 at Home and 3-0 in the cup semi-final.

"In 14 league games we played we only failed to score in one game. The goalkeeper Neil kept 15 clean sheets out of 19 competitive games and in the 6 a side tournaments we played we only conceded 2 goal in 15 matches"

"Unfortunately we are not great at penalties and we lost our 3 cup finals this year on penalities!"

"Football team wise the boys are split in support between Chelsea and Bayern Munich as we have 5 players with german parents but the team that unites everyone in support is the SPRINGBOKS!"

With the Springboks winning the Rugby World Cup last month and in the lead up to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa it is an exciting time to be a Bok! The Boks are coming to Liverpool, and the message is watch out, they arnt coming to make up the numbers!
