It gives me great pleasure to support both Liverpool and Knowsley Councils in organising an international youth soccer tournament on Merseyside.

I cannot think of a better place to hold a tournament of this nature than Merseyside. A place known throughout the world for its reputation as a hot bed for soccer.

I feel sure that any overseas team coming to play in the tournament will enjoy their experience and the tournament staff will do their very best to look after them.

I send my best wishes to all those involved in arranging the 2008 tournament and particularly the local and overseas teams.
