APPLICATION & REGISTRATION
(Procedures & Requirements)

The LKIYST is an invitational tournament and will only accept applications from British teams affiliated to their relevant county football association and their relevant national football association. Applications are welcomed from international visiting teams affiliated to FIFA through their relevant football association. Permission to travel from their affiliated football association will be required as entry to the tournament.

The LKIYST is sanctioned by the Liverpool County Football Association and English Football Association in affiliation with UEFA and FIFA. Liverpool County FA are key partners in the delivery of the competition and provide a full competition management committee during the competition.

For the 13th LKIYST (29th July -3rd August 2008) applications must be made online and will only be accepted through the website. All sections of the application form must be completed. All applications will be screened by Liverpool County Football Association. The LKIYST reserves the right to exclude the application of any team whose behaviour and standard of play is deemed not in the best interests of the competition.

Upon submitting the application form through this website the relevant entry fee must be sent to the tournament office by post as a cheque or postal order [made payable to KMBC] and received in the Tournament Office within 10 working days. Please ensure that the team name, age group, team code and pin number is clearly stated on the reverse of the cheque*.

The tournament office will confirm receipt of the entry fee by email within 5 working days of receipt. Subsequent tournament invitations will be issued by the tournament office in due course**. It is anticipated that the selection committee will meet to scrutinise applications and issue subsequent invitations in April 2008 and final invitations will be issued in May 2008.

*Entry Fees will be deposited upon receipt. However, this does not guarantee competition entry. Entry Fees will be returned to any teams not issued with an invitation. Notice of rejection by e-mail will include information concerning the refund of the team entry fee.

**Applications will be considered based on teams’ previous history within the tournament, standard of play, general discipline history (screened through Liverpool County FA ) and date of entry.

Priority entry will be given to teams who reached the semi finals and finals of the 2007 tournament providing that that team meets the entry requirements and application & relevant entry fee is received in the Tournament Office by 1st March 2008.

Closing date
The closing date for entries is May 16th 2008, although the tournament selection committee reserves the right to close any age group open to entries as required.

SELECTION & INVITATION

Teams not requiring accommodation will be required to complete the Standard Application Form.

The LKIYST is a high quality international youth soccer competition and as such the criteria for entry requires the selection committee to be highly selective. Please be aware that submission of the application form online and subsequent payment of the entry fee does not guarantee entry.

Selected teams will be notified of their invitation via email commencing in April 2008. All teams will be notified of their invitation or rejection with at least 30 days notice prior to the start of the competition. Upon receiving official confirmation via email the team code and pin number supplied upon first application will become active and the team manager will be granted access online via the Invited Team Login link (located on the left hand side of the home page).
Official Invitation information will be available on line through the LKIYST web site. This information will contain all required forms, documents, procedures and deadlines related to participation in the tournament. Each invited team will have their own administration page within the LKIYST website.

Team managers will be expected to complete the required competition administration documents online. This year for the first time; The LKIYST will not be mailing competition administration documents via the post. All competition administration must be downloaded, completed and returned via the website. (*Please note some forms require a signature and team managers will be instructed to return these via post).

Visiting Teams

Visiting Teams will be required to complete the Visiting Teams Application.

Once the team is selected the team manager will be contacted by the tournament office to discuss payment of entry fee and accommodation deposits. The team will be expected to make a non refundable deposit payment [dependent on numbers and agreed by the tournament office] to reserve tournament entry and accommodation.

This deposit will be required within one calendar month of official notification of invitation from the tournament office. If the required deposit is not paid by the specified date the tournament office reserve the right to cancel the invitation and the entry fee will be forfeited.

All visiting teams will be required to provide the tournament office with permission to travel from the relevant national football association. All teams must also ensure that they have obtained medical insurance to provide coverage for illness and / or injury of all members of the travelling party.

Upon arrival, all teams must be represented at the official managers meeting and accommodation welcome meeting on Monday 28th July. Team registration will be completed online in the first instance and final registration will take place upon arrival where passports and player dates of birth will be cross referenced with the player registration forms by a representative of the tournament office.

Teams must plan to arrive no later than Monday 28th July and depart no earlier than 6pm on Sunday 3rd August 2008.

It is recommended that teams arrive via Liverpool Airport (15 minutes transfer time) or Manchester Airport (45 minutes transfer time) for ease of travel.
