The Trafford Centre: The Trafford Centre is situated just outside Manchester City Centre and is a great shopping and leisure experience for anyone. There are numerous shops to browse and buy gifts, as well as a huge food emporium with many food outlets. Sit in the Titanic ship for lunch and enjoy the atmosphere of this wonderful shopping centre.
Alton Towers: Visit one of the UK’s best and most famous theme parks. Alton Towers has something for everyone, from exciting rides to live family shows. Dare to ride on Oblivion or take an exciting journey on Air. Don’t forget the River Rapids but prepare to get wet. Alton Towers is a truly enjoyable day out.
The Albert Dock: Situated along the Liverpool Waterfront, The Albert Dock is one of the most visited tourism attractions in Liverpool. Boasting a large array of Grade 1 listed buildings, the Albert Dock is home to Tate Liverpool, the Beatle’s Story, the National Slavery Museum, and the new BugWorld Experience amongst others. You can take a trip on a yellow Duckmarine or sit back in one of the numerous cafes, bars and restaurants and enjoy your day.
The Liverpool One: A 42 acre shopping and leisure experience set in the heart of Liverpool. The Liverpool One has over 160 shops, a 14 screen ODEON Cinema, a leisure terrace with more than 20 bars and restaurants and a 5 acre park to rest after a long day shopping. This is Liverpool’s newest shopping development and is well worth a visit.
World Museum Liverpool: Visit the World Museum Liverpool to view historic treasures from across the globe and use interactive technology to make learning a new, fun experience. The World Museum Liverpool has gone through numerous changes throughout the years, and re-opened in 2005 after a large expansion. Entry to the Museum is free for all visitors.
Throughout the week visiting teams will have the option to take in the Liverpool FC, Everton FC and Manchester Utd stadium tours, as well as visiting some of the North West’s best tourist attractions.
The programme of activities and entertainment planned during the tournament is first class and following Liverpool’s year as European Capital of Culture in 2008, 2010 will still be a really exciting time to visit Liverpool.
