LKIYST Team Reviews [2007-2010]

Please see the left column for some personal team accounts of the LKIYST for various teams and countries we have welcomed to Merseyside..........

2010 Tournament

"I would just like to say a big thank you for another well run and organised tournament yet again, it is only my second tournament I have attended myself and have enjoyed every day this week from the managers meeting at Anfield all the way through to our 3rd/4th place play off in the U14 girls yesterday afternoon. Thanks once again for a wonderful week and hope our club attends again next year as our players look forward to this event each year." [Kinmel Bay U14 Girls, Wales]

"Firstly let me congratulate yourself and all involved in a fantastic well run soccer festival in Liverpool/knowsley this event was our clubs first and will not be our last. Myself and everybody at kirkby woodpecker where so impressed at how well run this tournament was and after years of competing in tournaments all over the country as a club we can honestly say that the Liverpool/knowsley tournament is the best we have participated in. It started right from the beginning: The web site is so informative and registering your team on it was so easy. The venues outstanding facilities/pitches. Volunteers/staff so friendly and helpful. Referees very high standard, we saw young referees coming through which was nice to see and a good balance of more experienced referees to assist the younger refs. Presentation outstanding. Photography first class. This tournament reminded me so much of the Dallas cup competition in America and I feel that this is not only a credit to yourself and all involved past and present but a credit to Liverpool, knowsley and England. Once again we thank you for letting our club participate in this tournament and congratulate yourself and all on a job very well done." [Kirkby Woodpecker U11 Boys, Knowsley]

2009 Tournament

"Please let me take this opportunity on behalf of all coaches, officials, players and parents of ASV Denmark to express our sincere thanks to all of you at the tournament for your hospitality and extreme help and kindness in all aspects of our stay. You are absolutely fabulous. No matter what small request we had you handled it with the highest standards and thorough kindness. We were really satisfied with the participation in your tournament although we didn’t reach the semifinals. Once again - THANKS FOR EVERYTHING." [Morten Bach, ASV Denmark U12 Girls, Denmark]

2008 Tournament

"Great tournament....please accept our deepest gratitude and thanks for making our trip just an awesome experience. The girls have made lots of friends and we’re so happy with the experience. You made life easy for us organisers and the balance of sport, social and safety was just top notch. I hope to be able to bring back a team for another stab at a medal in a few years with the boys group!" [Stefan Fletcher, Gordon Head Pumas U14 Girls, Canada]

"I just want to thank you and all the staff who worked so hard to make the tournament an extremely enjoyable event, I believe for all who attended. I don’t think people realise how much effort and extremely hard work was put in, to make this tournament such a success. Thank you very much for a most enjoyable tournament, hopefully see you all next year with more teams coming from us!" [Peter Henry, East Kilbride U12 & U16 Girls, Scotland, UK]

"Just wanted to say a very big thank you from myself and all the boys. We had a fantastic trip and all the kids were quite upset that we had to leave and were already asking when we are coming back. Parents are already discussing the next trip. Thanks to all your team, we really felt at home in Liverpool and our boys were made to feel we were the reason the tournament was hosted. The boys will never forget this trip." [Themi Kartapanis, Randburg United U11 Boys, South Africa]

2007 Tournament

“Competition and friendship are two words that you will almost never find together when describing a soccer tournament. Yet, you were able to deliver just that”

“Very hard to find tournaments that deliver what they promise. Everything promised was delivered and much, much more.....”

“Our aim was to provide a learning and growing experience for the boys”, and thats exactly what happened...."
