The trip of the Manhattan Freedom Soccer Club to the Liverpool-Knowsley Soccer Tournament
I have attended a number of international youth soccer tournaments as a parent volunteer, including Gothia and Manchester. The 2003 Liverpool-Knowsley tournament was absolutely the best. The 16 and 17 year-old boys from our team, the Manhattan Freedom, had the time of their lives. The accommodation at the Carnatic Halls of Residence of Liverpool University was superb. At the residence they developed friendships with boys and girls soccer players from a half a dozen foreign countries, including China. Most important, the quality of the competition and the organisation of the games was excellent. Our boys kept saying that they had never played on such immaculate fields. They hope to come back again! Sincerely
