Liverpool-Knowsley Mini Cup [Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd July 2007]
Preceding the International Tournament, the 5th Liverpool-Knowsley Mini Cup will be again held at the King George V Sports Complex, Huyton in Knowsley. After a fantastic 2005 event, which saw the 85 teams entered [1000 players; 4000 spectators], the organisers are expecting the number of teams to increase again in 2006. The LK Mini Cup attracts players aged between 7 and 10 years old to compete in a friendly but high quality competitive competition.
Liverpool-Knowsley International Youth Soccer Tournament [Tuesday 24th July to Sunday 29th July 2007]
The tournament, now in its 12th year, is managed by the Metropolitan Borough of Knowsley and supported by Liverpool City Council. Geoffrey Hughes Playing Fields [Allerton] is the venue for the tournament, which sees over 30 visiting teams from across the world compete against around 100 UK based representative teams. Around 2500 young players from across Merseyside will play in this competition, bringing with them around 18,000 spectators. Last year’s tournament attracted teams from a variety of countries including USA, Germany, Finland, Iceland, France, Norway, China, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Saudi Arabia.
