* Please note that the tournament is an end of season tournament. As a result of this, teams should play in the age bracket in which they have competed in the current season.
Squad Numbers & Special Dispensation
Each team will be allowed to register a squad of 20 players, apart from Under 12 Girls and teams in the LK Mini Cup who may register a squad of 12 players. International teams who abide by the January 1st age boundary will be given special dispensation for a maximum of five over-age players.
Substitutes
U11 - U16 Age Group - Five substitutes (from the pre-registered tournament squad) may be permitted at any time during a match. A player who has been substituted may be reintroduced with permission from the referee during any stoppages in play.
U18 Girls & Boys - Five substitutes (from the pre-registered tournament squad) may be permitted at any time during a match. A player who has been substituted may not be reintroduced with permission from the referee during any stoppages in play.
Transport
The tournament office provides a free regular shuttle service between the Carnatic Halls accommodation and the soccer fields on match days. In addition we can arrange coach transfers between your point of arrival and departure within the UK. All transfer prices are available on request.
Social Programme
During the tournament week a full social and entertainment programme is organised by the tournament office. The programme is currently subject to change and will be confirmed by the tournament office in January 2010.
Highlights include:
Monday 26 July - Team managers meeting at Liverpool Football Club.
Tuesday 27 July – Pre-season Premier League, Football League or testimonial fixture
Wednesday 28 July - Annual Parade of Nations
Thursday 29 July - Evening Entertainment onsite
Friday 30 July - Various sightseeing options for teams on the rest day
Saturday 31 July - Disco & Evening Entertainment onsite
Sunday 1 August - Disco & Evening Entertainment onsite
Stadium Tours
In addition, throughout the week visiting teams will have the chance to take in the Liverpool FC, Everton FC and Manchester Utd stadium tours. (Stadium tours must be booked through the tournament office prior to your arrival and are subject to the appropriate entry fee.) Please note these tours are very popular during the week the tournament is held, as this is also the English school holiday period, so please book early to avoid any disappointment.
Advanced Payment
The Liverpool-Knowsley International Youth Soccer Tournament is covered by the Package Travel, Package Holiday and Package Tours Regulations 1992. The regulation protects customer’s deposits, which have been paid for transportation, accommodation and payments that are held by the tournament organisers, until such time as they have fulfilled their obligations or issued refunds. Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council acts as trustees in respect of all deposits paid.
Travel Companies / Agents
Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council and Liverpool City Council disclaim all responsibility for any arrangements made by or on behalf of any specialist travel agent who arrange travel packages for any persons or groups attending the tournament.

Schedule
Each age section will contain a maximum of sixteen teams, competing in groups of four teams.
International teams will arrive by Monday 26 July with group games commencing on Tuesday 27 July continuing through Wednesday 28 July and Thursday 29 July. Semi-finals will be played on Saturday 31 July with Finals on Sunday 1 August.
Within the tournament all teams are guaranteed at least three games. International teams will also be given the opportunity to play friendly games if they exit the tournament before the semi-final stages.
The LK Mini Soccer Tournament will take place on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 July.
Entry Fee
The following entry fees will apply to teams wishing to enter the LKIYST [27th July - 1st August 2010]. Following discussion with the Liverpool County FA Club Charter Standard Forum we continue to offer a reduced fee for 2010 for charter standard clubs.
Boys Teams [U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16 & U18]
The entry fee is £126 per team. This fee will be reduced to £100 for entries received before 31st March 2010.
Charter Standard Clubs - Entry Fee is £116 per team. This will be reduced to £91 for entries received before 31st March 2010.
Girls Teams [U12, U14, U16 & U18]
The entry fee is £51 per team.
Charter Standard Clubs - Entry Fee is £46.
Liverpool-Knowsley Mini Cup [U7 & U8]
The entry fee is £51 per team. This will be reduced to £31 if our application to the FA for dispensation to play competitive football is declined.
Liverpool-Knowsley Mini Cup [U9, U10 & U10 Girls]
The entry fee is £51 per team. Charter Standard Clubs - Entry Fee is £46.
Please Note:
As the under 7 and under 8 age groups are non-competitive, due to FA rules and regulations, the younger age groups will take part in a non-competitive tournament/festival of football. This effectively means that no league positions or winners trophies will be awarded, although all players will still receive participation medals. This will mean that teams in the under 7 and under 8 categories will only play during the weekend of 24th & 25th July, and will not progress to the finals taking place the following weekend, Saturday 31st July and Sunday 1st August.
We have made an application to the FA to seek suspension of the above rules during the period of our tournament. We are hopeful that this will be resolved by the end of February 2010.
